Reason for choosing this sportShe wanted to try speed skating because it is not as popular as other sports in Italy. "It is a very different sport from the others that are commonly practised. Besides high speeds can be reached only with the power of the legs. It has adrenaline and it is awesome, all the power is applied while balancing on a tiny blade!"

In December 2017 she was suspended for two months and 10 days by the Italian Ice Sports Federation [FISG] after choosing to train with her club coach Giorgio Baroni rather than national coach Maurizio Marchetto. She had announced her decision in July 2017, stating that working with Baroni put her in the best mental condition to compete. Her suspension meant she was not eligible for selection ahead of the 2018 Olympic Winter Games in Pyeongchang. (oasport.it, 08 Dec 2017)
