Reason for choosing this sportHer father, who was her first coach, competed in speed skating at international level. She enjoys the individual element of speed skating. "I like the Olympic style and having my own lane. I don't like all the pushing and shoving in short track."  
When and where did you begin this sport?She began speed skating at age five and at age six joined the Salmon Arm Ice Breakers in British Columbia, Canada. She initially competed in short track before switching to long track speed skating. "I really enjoyed Salmon Arm, it was a good place to learn how to skate. I'm more passionate about long track than short track."
