Reason for choosing this sport | "My neighbour asked me to go to the [inline] skating rink in Heerde [in the Netherlands] to try a training session. I liked it so much and stayed there. When I was eight years old, I was already inline skating in the summer but I also wanted to do something in the winter. Then I went with my father to the ice rink. I borrowed my aunt's skates, but they were not sharp at all. I slid all over the place, so at first it didn't go so well. I want to keep doing both sports for as long as I can, but if I really have to choose I will choose speed skating because it is an Olympic sport." | |
