When and where did you begin this sport?She began skating at age eight in Nagano Prefecture, Japan. She made her World Cup debut in short track in 2015, and decided to switch to speed skating in April 2022.  
Reason for choosing this sportShe was encouraged to start skating by her father, who worked at a hotel adjacent to an ice rink.
