Injuries | He sustained a groin injury during the 500m at the 2021 Dutch National Single Distances Championships and was ruled out of the rest of the tournament. Other information | INJURY PROBLEMS He was forced to pull out of the 2021 Dutch National Single Distances Championships with a groin problem, and was therefore not selected for the Dutch team for the 2021/22 World Cup season. "I'd rather not have any setbacks [ahead of the 2022 Olympic Winter Games], but once you have them, you have to make sure you come back as best you can. I know what the consequence is, what I have to do now to finally make the best of it. I want to go to the Olympics, and preferably get gold there. I have to be good by the end of December.
