Reason for choosing this sport	He lived near the Jaap Eden ice rink in Amsterdam, Netherlands. "I grew up here. In this neighbourhood and on this track. The whole reason I started skating as a kid was the fact that this ice rink was just around the corner."

CHANGE OF CLUB After spending three years competing for Port of Amsterdam, in 2020 he switched to Team Zaanlander. "Port of Amsterdam is really a student team, in which everyone wants to develop as a skater but also does something on the side. I chose the matches myself [with Port of Amsterdam], often had no coach and always had to arrange transport. It has taught me that you could go very far alone. That has brought me to where I am now [speaking in 2020], but I now notice that I train with teammates who are super good and have professional coaches who can ensure that I can take that extra step."
