"From April to October, speed skaters are looking for their own things to enjoy. I wanted to have a competitive incentive during this period. A cycling race or a roller skating race doesn't really appeal to me. I consider this challenge to be excellent training. In terms of time it may seem like a skating distance of between 500m and 1000m, but otherwise it will be a completely new experience."
