Other informationNORWEGIAN TRAINING
In June 2018 she began training with the Norwegian sprint team under Canadian coach Jeremy Wotherspoon. "We are going to see how the collaboration works and whether I am a good addition for the Norwegians. It's great that I can learn things from such a world class trainer. In the past I used to look at how he skated and how he drove world records, which was fascinating to see, as a coach he also produced some good skaters. His skaters are pretty deep with him, I can still learn a lot from them, and I said to myself, 'If I want anything else, I have to do things differently to see if that works.'" (schaatsen.nl, 16 Jun 2018)

TRAINING
After struggling with a thyroid problem in 2014 and then injuring her knee the following year, she has discovered that she needs to adapt her training programme in order to maintain her fitness. "I have learned to listen to my body. To stay fit, I have to find a balance. And that means sometimes I'll do something easier. Or that I won't, for example, do strength work in the morning followed by skating training in the afternoon. I look after my knee, and I'll move my schedule around a bit so that I can do both workouts, but not consecutively." (schaatsen.nl, 27 Oct 2016)
