Injuries | He has had a total of eight operations on his shoulder. Seven of them were when he was a child, and the eighth took place in May 2023. In 2020 he began the process of switching nations to compete for the People's Republic of China, and was granted Chinese nationality in June 2020. He was approved to start competing for his new nation by the International Skating Union [ISU] in July 2022.
