"Growing up I always did a lot of rollerblading and one day my grandparents were looking for a place for my sister to have her birthday party. We were in Sydney [NSW, Australia], and Macquarie Ice Rink had an advert for a birthday party and that was the first time I ever skated. I picked it up pretty quickly. Someone [there] was speed skating and I wanted to do that, so I started lessons at Canterbury Ice Rink [in New South Wales, Australia]."
