He tried several sports in his youth, including football, padel and tennis, but decided to pursue roller speed skating. In 2020 a coach encouraged him to try speed skating on ice. |

"I always say that I'm not quite sure which one I like the most. If I had to choose one I would pick roller skating because it's the sport that I've been doing since I was a little kid. I am more keen to do something that I had done for so long and not because of the chance of making a living from it, as is the case with speed skating [on ice] because it is an Olympic sport. For now I will try to combine both as long as I can perform very well in both. I am lucky that I am good at the sport that I like, and for now I'm focusing on both."
