In 2018 he began serving as a police athlete with the Thuringia State Police in Germany. "Due to the increasing number of cases and the uncertainty whether international competitions would take place in the second half of the 2020/21 season, I decided to work for the police again for four weeks in November [2020]. As a police athlete, you have to work a minimum number of hours within the three-year probationary period in order to become a civil servant for life. The training continued parallel to work."
