She has competed in speed skating, roller speed skating, and marathon skating. "A lot of people ask me what I like to do the most, but I think the combination is super fun. Long track speed skating is great when it's going well, but when it doesn't work, it's a hard sport. And the tactical game in rollerblading is comparable to marathon skating.'' She worked as a part-time baker at LekkerZoet bakery in Leeuwarden, Netherlands, before deciding to focus her attention on speed skating full-time ahead of the 2020/21 season. "Until that time I also worked as a cake baker at a bakery. We made so-called fondant cakes for weddings and children's birthdays. Great work, but I could no longer combine it with top sport.''
