Injuries | In December 2012 she was setting up for a practice start when she was hit from behind by another skater. She was left with a broken collarbone, broken ribs, a fractured skull, two fractured vertebrae in her neck, a loss of hearing in her left ear, and facial paralysis [Bells Palsy]. She was back on skates three months later and managed to recover in time to qualify for the national World Cup team in late 2013.
