When and where did you begin this sport?She began skating at age 10. Initially involved in short track, she switched to speed skating in 2018.  
Reason for choosing this sportShe was inspired to get involved in short track after watching Chinese skater Yang Yang [A] win two gold medals at the 2002 Olympic Winter Games in Salt Lake City. She switched to speed skating in 2018 having missed out on selection for the Chinese short track team ahead of the 2018 Olympic Winter Games.

She was disappointed to miss out on selection for the Chinese short track team ahead of the 2018 Olympic Winter Games, and took some time away from the sport to travel to Indonesia and Malaysia. Watching the 2018 Olympic Winter Games from her hotel room, she was inspired to switch sports by the success of Korean skater Lee Seung-Hoon and Dutch skater Jorien ter Mors, who both have backgrounds in short track and went on to claim gold medals in speed skating in Pyeongchang.
