In March 2020 he announced his retirement from competitive short track. That year he graduated from Concordia University in Montreal, QC, Canada, and in December 2020 he began working as an investment analyst for an insurance company in Montreal. "I didn't think I would go where I went. I didn't think I would have the chance to experience all that I have experienced in sport. Thank you to all those who have followed me from near or far in the last 20 years. Lots of things will follow me into my next career. In particular a nasty hip pain."
