Reason for choosing this sportHe switched from figure skating to short track. "When I was 11 me and my parents faced the dilemma of whether I should continue with figure skating. It would require paying for training with an additional coach and no guarantee of success. I felt that short track would be the right move. I already had good results after my first competitions, which was also a decisive factor in my decision to pursue short track. I had a much better chance of achieving good results in this sport."

Other informationFROM FIGURE SKATING TO SHORT TRACK
He previously competed in figure skating at national junior level in Poland, and he says his training in figure skating gave him an advantage when he switched to short track. "I trained in figure skating for seven years, I also tried my hand at ice hockey. So, everything with ice skates. I learned how to skate when I was three-and-a-half-years-old. I think figure skating helps me a lot. Figure skating is mostly about the skating technique. Thanks to the fact that I trained it, I can focus less on technique now." (nto.pl, 07 Feb 2017)
