She became interested in the sport after watching the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver. "My mum asked me what sport I wanted to try and I thought speed skating was cool. I love the strategy and competition. Since it is at such a high speed, you get an adrenaline rush. It is really exciting."

BUSY SCHEDULE She has taken part in training programmes across the world, and has had to develop effective ways of managing her time to keep up with her school work. "I have trained in Canada, Utah [in the United States of America], the Netherlands, Belgium, France, the UK, and I have gone to [the Republic of] Korea to train over the summer.
